Should my dad get a ford or Toyota?

hi my dad is looking for a new car because we have a peugeot 307 on a 07 plate which has a failing ECU now for that part costs around �750 to �900 and the mechanic (not peugeot) told him that this part may not fix it and would be cheaper to sell it my dad hates the car he only got it because he needed a quick car because he wrote his nissan almera off in a accident.Now he is stuck between a ford fiesta zetec s 2010 model 1.6L ..................and a toyota auris sr 2010 model 1.6L -2.0L he finds them very nice,reliable reviews and has heard that they both have very good engines in them
