Best guess, since this happened a while ago, is the timing belt has broken. This would have caused the engine to die instantly. Additionally Honda engines are intereference engines which means that if a belt goes south then it can cause the pistons to crash up into the valves doing massive damage, Try pulling all the plugs and see if they look like they have had damage to the electrodes.Or you can pull the heads and see there. If so then you will need a serious engine rebuild.

TENEN" a Sears lawyer say i MUST pay $250 or they will take legal action against me. i ignored the first two letters because i dont understand why i need to pay $250, when the merchandise i stole was $80 (according to them) and they kept the merchandise it was untainted an still in good condition. do i just keep ignoring the letters? willl they sue me, and ruin my pre-trail diversion?

I didnt introduce any solids til almost 7 months and even then they were minimal. We did baby lead weaning which is basically if the baby wants solid food you just give them regular solid food, no purees. She really didn't eat many foods at all until she was almost a year. My pediatrician had no problems with this and told me that breastmilk should be the main way of getting nutrition for the first year anyway. I have an electrical problem with power to my ecu plug for my mk3 mondeo?

I went to a garage so they could scan my car because of an engine management light. There was no power to the plug. I checked the fuses and there is a 3amp fuse for the pcm(engine management control unit - F33) instead of a 7.5 amp fuse also there was another fuse missing for the engine management F41. Is it possible the pcm has been fried because of someone installing the wrong fuse. Strangely the car runs fine accept a bit of rev hunting when idling sometimes.

My shin splint pain has moved upward, what does this mean?

I've had shin splints for the longesttttt time ever!(since April) And I've done about everything under the sun to try and get rid of them but nothing seems to have worked. I rested, got orthoditics in my shoes, built up slowly after rest, have been strengthening my hip and core muscles along with balance and stability, and have been icing 3 times a day for 20 minutes each, and running on only soft surfaces now that I have had to start training for cross country again. This is everythingggg that has been suggested to me and I'm running out of options, I was checked for a stress fracture about a week ago and its likely that that's not the problem. Now the pain seems to have moved upward, to the point where it almost seems like it's not quite in my shin anymore? It's pretty close to my knee now, but not quite up high enough that its knee pain but it still doesn't feel like shin pain. 1998 Volkswagen Passat 1.8T 20 valve exhaust problem?

Hey, so my Passat's muffler just fell off.... so for the sake of any other part of my exhaust falling off and hitting someone behind me while i drive. i lifted up the car and checked out the whole exhaust system. basically everything past the downpipe is pretty much ****... My question is, if i take off the secondary muffler and catalytic converter, replacing them with a straight pipe and new muffler. would i have to tune the ecu any for the sake of the O2 sensors?? i ask because its a turbo'd engine and idk if this would throw off the fuel management. in otherwords, blow my engine.

1990 civic engine light problem?

i have a 90 civic dx automatic with 234000 miles on it. when you switch on the car and drive it for a while the CEL comes on. when you switch off the car the CEL goes off. then turn on again the CEL is not there unless you drive it for a while and it comes on again. so its like when the car warms up then the CEL comes on. also i checked the number of red blinks in the ECU and i get 12 short flashes and that means its code 12 which is the egr, but i removed the egr cleaned it but CEL still comes on. anybody who can help me out there would be a great help and would really appreciate. thanks.

2007 Saab 9-3 2.0T Sedan Idle issues?

I've had spark plugs, fluids, and filters changed. I've cleaned the throttle body, reset ecu, and software updated but what factors affect idle? Software update fixed spark plug adaptation and stalling. Also before update car occasionally idled at 720. I could drive it for weeks and it would idle at 900. Saab tech checked for vacuum leaks, none. They did agree idle was a bit higher then norm and programmed it to idle 15 rpms lower. So now with the a/c it idles at 720. I have noticed in the recent days that car idles flawlessly on a full tank. Don't have to wait for idle to drop, but when 1/2 full there are problems. Ex. full, car idles at 720. I can turn it off as many times and it still idles at 720. It says in manual car should idle at 720 unless there is load ex. turning steering wheel. Less then full car idles at 720 but I have to wait awhile and if I turn it off forget about it. It will idle at 900 until it wants to drop. It eventually drops after a few starts or being driven for 10 or more minutes. Usually it sounds funny and my lights dim for a second before the drop. Is this the correct way the trionic 8 operates? I'm trying to pinpoint an exact cause for this. Any guesses? I don't want to replace the battery if not necessary. If the battery is low or there is a drop in voltage can that put load on the engine maybe making the alternator work harder to compensate for the lack of power? I notice that un/locking makes the interior lights dim slightly. My headlights and SID dim slightly as well. Its not very noticeable but I can tell if I look hard enough. I think its related to the battery. If I leave the radio on or a door open for awhile while cleaning the car it idles high for awhile but I've never had to get a jump and car doesn't take long to start.

If the engine management light is on there is definitely a fault recorded. Either the fault has appeared after your brother has checked for faults or his diagnostic did not pick up the fault. Is he using a universal code reader? Although I have never used a universal one I do own a genuine Peugeot one and I know that they are very complex things and I doubt a universal scanner would pick up everything. For example my car reports a permanent fault with the multifunction display saying that it can't communicate with the radio, that's because I've replaced the Peugeot radio. I very much doubt a universal reader would pick up faults like that. I would get your brother to scan the car again and if he still cannot find any faults take the car take it to someone with a genuine Peugeot diagnostic or Peugeot dealer. If you're in the midlands I may be able to help.

Make sure you stand along the driver's side fender in case the car lurches forward. The engine compartment has to be in complete darkness to see the sparks.

Could a faulty heater matrix cause overheating on a nissan micra?

I have an r reg nissan micra which has recently been overheating. I have changed the thermostat and the cooling switch, however the problem has not went away. Add to this the fan will not work on the radiator unless powered directly from the car battery, and even when set up and working like this the engine is still overheating. I have decided to tgake it to a local garage who have quoted me �200 to fix as they are saying that the heater matrix is blocked and this is causing the overheating, they have also said that the fan must have been working constantly with the engine overheating and as a result this has burnt out part of the ecu or something. Does this sound like it could be right and if so is it a decent price for the work.

I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.9L engine. When it's cold and I start it the RPM jumps like a normal car to about 2k and then dies if I don't give it the gas and keep it around 1k RPM for a few seconds. Sometimes it will shutter for a little while too. So I cleaned the throttle body really well, put in a new air filter and reset the ecu. How about disconnecting the cable at the starter solenoid that goes to the starter motor? That way the solenoid will still engage if that signal is needed by the ECU, but the starter won't engage. When the testing is over with, reconnect it and go on about your business.

hello.i have a 2002 Honda civic EX,1.7L VTech.manual transmission with 102,000 miles.the CEL gave me a code p0401, related with EGR valve.i got a new EGR valve installed,code was gone,but after driving 20 miles it came back.sprayed the intake port where the egr valve seat.code was gone,but after some miles came back.also did the ECU reset with fuse #6.still the same.the car idle goes up a bit sudden and then back to normal at 2nd and 3rd gear after i stop and go, at 40mph and up runs very fine.i was told the car must have a very bad carbon buildup.last time i sprayed the 2 hole/port using a whole NAPA carburetor/intake valve cleaner.however the code came back after driving several mile.i do not have any idea what to next

All electrical parts inside 96 thunderbird is acting weird?

Okay this car has been acting weird randomly the past 2 days. all the gauges are half *** working, the O/D off light flicks on and off sometimes, every once in a while the dinging sound when the door is open starts going off, the clock only half works, windshield wipers move very slow and well everything electrical either doesn't work or is half *** working. I took it to O'Rilleys to do an alternator test and my alternator was only putting out 60 amps when it should be producing 130. So I bought a new alternator and installed it, I got it about 20 miles with no problems then it started doing the same thing again. Now before the alternator sometimes it would die and just have the battery light on. So far it has not died yet but everything else is still doing the same now. I hooked up the battery to a charger and my charger said it went from 100% to 70% so I guess it is losing a charge now also. Hooked up a new battery and it has done the same. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be happening? I would think if it was a short it would blow a fuse or something and it would only be maybe 1 or 2 problems and not every single electrical thing ******* up on this car. I am going to unplug the battery for an hr or 2 to reset the ecu and hope that may just be what it needs and if that is not the problem then I am completely out of ideas. If anyone has any information it would be very useful.

Overheating car: two sets of symptoms depending on thermostat?

I'll try. I presume 3.8l 6cyl. First did you install thermostat right way up, spring part should be down in intake. If coolant not circulating in system rad. fans won't come on, so turning heater on acts like radiator. gauge won't register overheating if coolant not circulating. Try leaving therm. out and see if everything works OK. The cap blew off from too much pressure which also caused rad. to blow. Have seen therm. installed wrong way many times in my career. If that's not the problem before reinstalling therm. see if coolant is circulating in rad. run with rad. cap off should see coolant flowing. If not could be bad water pump impeller, but if you see air bubbles in coolant could be bad head gasket. Got to be one of these but strongest possibility is thermostat upside down. Not doubting your mate's prowess but things happen. If more input needed email me.

I have a weird phobia, like whenever I get too close to a really tall vertical object like a skyscraper or TV antennae I feel like gravity is gonna give way and I am going to be sucked into the sky like mighty mouse but not because i can fly, but because space sucked me away. I wouldn't. I'd spend $4500 on an Integra that hasn't been modified. Not hard to find if you look state wide. A car like the one you described has probably been beat into the ground and driven like a race car. Unless you're a mechanic and/or have a experience fixing cars and some spare cash, i wouldn't buy it. You'd be better off buying one stock and putting those mods on yourself. I know it's cheaper to buy one with a swap in it already but the motor was only put in to race and that does damage to the internals. A couple drives won't let you determine if the car is reliable.

Well the funny thing is this. If they have the harness in stock as well as the switch. Then my guess is there was a problem with both. More than likely these are revised parts (upgrades) to correct a prior issue. There are only 3 things it could be 1 switch, 2 harness 3 motor. But your control board appears to be functional. If the switch was bad and arched itself myself I would probably replace the harness. But the parts guys should know what they send out the most. And that should be able to help you as to get it or not.

I have an 03 G35, just purchased a jet vforce plus piggyback module. It only uses 6 leads total. One is for 12v, one for ground, one for O2 sensor signal, one for tps signal, and two for maf sensor. Hot wire the fans and see if they are capable of working. You may be able to see if the fans can work by turning on your air conditioning. If the fans work than you will need to locate and check the radiator fan sensor. Also check your fuse panel to see if the fan circuit is fused. Relays generally last fairly well but it never hurts to check them. By the way, its possible to jump the fans at the relay harness or box connection if accessible.

I know about the long QT, I had to have an ICD implant in 2008 for that. I however just found out about the 3 heart valves reguraiation and the small hyprokinetic. When I went to the doctor for a follow up, after the test, I got no clear answers in regards to my test. the only way you can truly have too much RAM is if you have so much that seek times are slowed down as a result. if the OS won't support it (most 32bit OSs only support 4GB for example) then it simply won't use the rest. If you have a 64bit OS then I would go with 6GB or 8GB (I'm fuzzy on the DDR3 rules but I know my ASUS rampage MB requires RAM in sets of 3 or else it runs at DDR2 speed and not DDR3... however I see a lot of MBs that use DDR3 with only 4 RAM sockets which makes it hard to add RAM in sets of 3). for gaming 4GB will usually do just fine and higher end games may make use of more RAM but if you are just playing something like WoW then 4GB is overkill.

Computer wouldent power on after being repaired try serveral things could it be the cpu blown up?

i have an amd le processor that was in an etower emachine. Was supposed to have windows 7 on it after a repair but was sumhow not working at all so i removed the old psu put it into another computer and i got nothing for power so i figured stock psu was bad. A month later i replaced with another psu was only a 20 pin i herd noise now when i powered it on figured maybe video is shot replaced nothing . After that i had remebered something about amd processors being fussy about runnin wit anything below like 325 or 350w so i said screw it then i ripped out the big dog a 650w psu and installed it nothing was working at that point no fans nothing so i question some plugs being loose i unplugged the 4 pin connector plug that was near the cpu i powered on i hear fans now. so it was at that point i was scratchin my head. I said well i got a newer amd motherboard hanging about am3 backwards compatable so i popped the old le chip into it and hookedall the plugs up and i got nothing so once again on the new board i go unplug the 4 pin plug power on bingo fans turn on but yet the same no video lead me at this point to believe the cpu is junk??? is it possiable that the original board is still good and would work with another chip. The newer board was tested with a quad core and worked fine so i do know that one board used was working and both boards without the 4 pin connected just 24 pin showed signs of fans working

Hey I did a b16a2 99 si swap into my 1996 civic hx coupe, everything is done and good to go but we are running into a really stupid small problem... We are getting power in the inside of the car, dash lights everything but no power to the motor at all, we had the starter checked twice and it was fine... No power at all you cant even hear the fuel pump click. I just got a p28 ecu programmed and mapped for the car.. So it is something electrical.. Only you can answer that. I'm guessing about $500 if they have a reprogram. It will cost more for a costume tune. I had my 1.8t VW Passat remapped and I love it and I think it was worth it. They did remove the limiter. I have an Audi Performance Racing tune. APR might have one for you or GIAC is another good company. They might have a tunner that they can send you in the mail. With that tunner you can upload and remove it via the OBD Port that sould be under the dash somewhere above your knees.

Can you over rev a Peugeot 207?

Our 207 has broken down. We have been told that it needs a new engine, the reason being that it was over revved during it's MOT emissions test. We have been told that this over revving was recorded on the ECU which they say they have erased. This does not sound very correct to me, thought new cars, just over 3yrs old, had rev limiters, also I didn't think the ECU could store data.

Why can't I watch movies on my computer?

I downloaded Black Hawk Down via Torrent. The movie is longer than usual, other movies are usually of 1.5 hours. The problem is that I can't watch it on my computer as the video is stuck frequently while the sound is perfect. Other movies work fine, but the longer one's don't. Problem with peugeot 206?

First i'd like to say i don't know alot about cars so sorry if this isn't very detailed. The car is a peugeot 206 1.4 deisel 03 plate. The car will start up fine first thing in the morning or if i havent used it for a while but after i've drove the car and turned the engine off it wont start again for a few hours. If i try to start it before that it just comes up with an 'Air bags' sign on the dashboard and wont turn on. It also wont start on a hot day which makes me think its something to do with the temperature although the temperature guage doesnt get high. When it is goin to start another light comes on which sort of looks like a valve but i'm not sure what this is. I've taken it to a garage and they said it could be a problem with the ecu which would cost me over �1000 to replace and someone has also checked it on a computer and said the fuel temperature is too high. Average price of a 20B rotary engine?

I have 1987 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II and as of right now it has that repulsive S4 turbo engine in it. Don't get me wrong, I love RX-7s and rotary engines but that particular setup is the worst ever. Im about 200 pounds, 5'7. I just started working out no more than 6months ago. I have a good weight lifting routine(day 1-chest and back, day 2-biceps and triceps, day3-shoulders and legs) and i try to do cardio everyday and core a couple times a week. i'm looking to do an engine swap to gain more horsepower/speed. i'm a bit new with doing work on cars, tuning cars, and a bit of racing cars. i'm looking to take my all stock 1999 Pontiac Grand Am se and put a stronger/faster engine in it and i would prefer to put a 2009 Chevy Corvette ZR1 engine in to replace my Grand Am's 3.4L 3400 SFI. any other ideas would be considered also, i still have to find an engine to swap with. any ideas/recomendations/advice/etc. would be greatly appriciated. i know Grand Ams aren't exactly a "top dog" in the racing/tuning world, but i'm looking for mine to set a new standard. my first part to this project is for it to be a "Sleeper car" (only tuned and no body/exterior adjustments). OTHER NOTES/IDEAS: swap out exhaust with a 1999 Grand Am GT for the 4 pipes instead of 2. add a Flowmaster 80 or Borla(i need to research it more) exhaust kit. then with whatever engine i end up getting to replace my current one, adding a twin turbo/supercharger/turbo(whatever fits). lowering the suspension. new higher performance brakes. and I have already been told that i would need a new "chip" (ECU) for the new engine along with new gauges to keep up with the new gear. i'm pretty sure i've covered everything i need to cover about my plan and the info.

My roommate works in sears auto its hot here in texas. There's fans in the shop but its still hot. He passed out from hea exaustion on thejob... but that's not the problem. he was laying on th floor for half an hour unable to move in the middle of the shop. Nobody here can tell you the best way to get your baby to sleep, but they can tell you the best way to get their baby to sleep. When my daughter was 5 months old, we did a version of the cry it out. When she would wake up at night, I was in the habit of just getting up and feeding her. Well, I went back to nights and my husband was at home with her. He was much slower to respond to her crying out. Sometimes by the time he got to her (5 minutes tops) she would already be back asleep. If she wasn't, he would give her a paci. If she spit it out and still cried, she got a bottle. Rocking the baby all night wasn't in the cards for us either. On a side note, have you ever thought about getting her checked by a chiropractor? I never believed in them until after I had my baby and could barely walk because my spine was so misaligned from the epidural. I had a close friend that I referred to the chiro because her baby had terrible reflux and it completely got rid of the reflux. Just a thought.

Lemme start by saying i have a 1995 eclipse and a 1999 eclipse which i work on both my self. My 1995 has some serious issues. Ive replaced my battery, alternator, coil pack,spark plugs and wires, and so on. Yet my battery light will not turn off. When driving at a steady speed the car will lose power meaning i can push the gas and nothing happens, when i let off it will rev and sputter sort of while this problem is occurring the battery light is off. I have taken my car to numerous mechanics who have no idea whats going on and try talking me into trying other parts which none help the problem. A friend said its not an electrical problem thats its my ecu/pcm, another local mechanic said he could not run a diagnostic because my pcm reaches 195 degrees. I dont understand why the pcm would cause my battery not t hold a charge. PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND IF YOUR GOING TO TELL ME TO REPLACE MY ALTERNATOR LIKE I SAID BEFORE, I HAVE DONE THIS.

im currently enrolled at my local cc and hope to work in the medical field someday, specifically as an obgyn. I just graduated from high school and all i feel at this moment is great regret for not trying to do my best academically and for not applying to many CS's and no UC's ( didn't think i had a chance for UC). I did get into a few cal states but opted not to go as I was told it was easier to transfer from a community college to a UC. For some reason I tend to make good friends with the overachieving, type A, bossy type. It's so funny & I recently had this epiphany LOL..anyway, I don't like anyone bossing me around...especially if they are not an authority over me & they're just my friend. My car ac is not cold at all!?

i have a 2003 subaru wrx and it had a leak for the longest time that never got taken care of. now i finally fixed it(after a year or so) and the ac doesnt blow cold. there is no leak 100% sure, the relay is working properly, i reset the ecu to see if made a difference and the compressor is moving at full speed. i fell the noise of the compressor and feel how it takes power from the engine when i am inside of the car, but the air is barely less warm than the outside temperature. i ran out of ideas, please help. thanks!

Could a faulty heater matrix cause overheating on a nissan micra?

I have an r reg nissan micra which has recently been overheating. I have changed the thermostat and the cooling switch, however the problem has not went away. Add to this the fan will not work on the radiator unless powered directly from the car battery, and even when set up and working like this the engine is still overheating. I have decided to tgake it to a local garage who have quoted me �200 to fix as they are saying that the heater matrix is blocked and this is causing the overheating, they have also said that the fan must have been working constantly with the engine overheating and as a result this has burnt out part of the ecu or something. Does this sound like it could be right and if so is it a decent price for the work.

I have 1987 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II and as of right now it has that repulsive S4 turbo engine in it. Don't get me wrong, I love RX-7s and rotary engines but that particular setup is the worst ever. How do I bypass the Power Steering Pressure sensor so the ECM does monitor it?

Car is 2001 Mazda Protege Mp3 2.0L Manual. My biennial smog check and re-registration is due within 30 day from now and I haven't have all the monitors completed yet. On top of that the P.S. pressure switch/sensor has been triggering DTC P0550 lately and it may be bad and needs to be replaced. I can get a new one and put it in there but my main problem is there is no connector or wiring that will lead to the ECM. It's useless because no matter I have tried looking for it none is visible. This car has been totalled more than two years ago and was repaired successfully and passed the smog then and the DTC have not yet occur until few weeks ago when I disconnected the battery. I have not messed with the car since and the car obviously passed the test with the connector disconnected from the sensor. I was wondering if there is a technique I don't know that can be done so that the ECU wont monitor the sensor therefore not triggering DTC again. My main concern is just passing the smog test.
